THE PRESIDENT'S WELCOME
Welcome to the St. Louis Gateway Professionals Chapter of NSBE!
We are more than a professional organization; we are a vital resource for developing top scientific and technical talent in St. Louis and building lasting networks among peers and mentors. As President, I take pride in this chapter that also developed me as a youth from North City St. Louis to the professional I am today.
While our organization primarily focuses on increasing the representation of Black engineers, we also take immense pride in the diverse composition of our NSBE - STL Gateway Chapter. This chapter includes a broad spectrum of members, encompassing both native and non-native individuals, various racial identities, diverse cultures, multiple generations, and a range of professional backgrounds that extend beyond the STEM fields. We believe diversity drives innovation.
We hold the conviction that St. Louis and its surrounding areas are often undervalued and under-recognized hubs for manufacturing, science, and technology professionals. Our mission is to serve as a key resource in reshaping this narrative, aiding in the recruitment and retention of STEM talent from primary education through advanced educational and trade development, with the goal of retaining our exceptional talent here in St. Louis.
Please review our National Mission Statement, Professional Value Statement, and STL Gateway Chapter Vision, which guide us in empowering our members toward personal and professional growth.
We invite you to join us in highlighting St. Louis's excellence and nurturing innovative leaders in our community. Welcome to the NSBE STL family!
Best Regards,
Danielle Bowles-Martin
President NSBE STL Gateway Chapter

About Us
Thank you for your interest in the St. Louis Gateway Chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE).
For approximately 35 years, our chapter has been devoted to serving the St. Louis engineering and technology sectors through our commitment to engaging discussions, comprehensive personal and professional development, mentorship programs, and career placement services. Additionally, we offer a specialized programming for students in grades 3 through 12, known as NSBE Jr.
Our initiatives have significantly contributed to the development and support of great technological and scientific talent emerging from the St. Louis area, made possible through the invaluable support of our community, dedicated members, and corporate partners. The STL Gateway Professionals offer programs designed to enhance the experience of individuals seeking to engage with and contribute to the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) community in St. Louis.
Our partners and members have a unique opportunity to network and connect with a growing membership largely composed of Black STEM professionals in St. Louis and its surrounding areas. Furthermore, partners and members benefit from our expanding community outreach initiatives, which include STEM programs targeted at collegiate students as well as youth in grades 3 through 12. While our organization primarily focuses on increasing the representation of Black engineers, we take great pride in diversity - we warmly welcome all individuals who support our values, mission, and vision. We recognize that diversity of thought and experience serves as a catalyst for innovation and creative problem-solving.
The NSBE - STL Gateway Chapter is committed to collaborating with leading companies and community partners to enhance access to resources and career opportunities for our expanding chapter membership, while also promoting increased diversity within the STEM fields. We look forward to the possibility of establishing a partnership with you this year as we work together to fulfill our organization's mission and achieve the objectives of our chapter.
